The results of the cooperation among partners from Germany, Latvia, Spain and Hungary are now available for regions, local communities, municipalities, industrial parks, innovation agencies and other organisations interested in interregional and EU innovation know-how.

INTERREG IVC national dissemination workshop on 'Inspiration for future' took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on 13 March 2013. It was the first in a row of national workshops for representatives of public bodies on presence and future of interregional cooperation (Part of the C strand of the ETC (as well as of the former Interreg III Community Initiative), its aim is to promote exchange and transfer of knowledge and best ...) . In Slovenia, they shared their experience with others in working in INTERREG IVC projects. They also gave the programme some feedback on their future expectations regarding interregional cooperation.The INTERREG IVC programme launched an online questionnaire on the dissemination of good practices and solutions for improving regional policies in the framework of the Thematic Programme Capitalisation. This survey targets public bodies and potential policy makers or implementers as the main audience that could benefit from the good practices identified by the INTERREG IVC projects. You can help us shaping the communication tools by answering this online survey by the 1 May 2013.

European Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn, and Luc Van den Brande have announced the winners of the prestigious Regio Stars Awards on 31 January 2013 in Brussels. The PASE project was among the finalists.
We have been EU citizens for almost 20 years now. Most of us cherish the freedom of movement or the rights to live, vote or get education in any of the 27 EU countries, which gradually developed around the Union citizenship. Still, numerous barriers persist mainly due to our lack of knowledge of our EU rights and freedoms. The European Commission designated the year 2013 as the European Year of Citizens to overcome the remaining hurdles and strengthen people's awareness of their role as EU citizens.

12 INTERREG IVC Thematic Capitalisation Workshops were held with success in Brussels from 29 October to 16 November. 315 participants from 105 INTERREG IVC projects, thematic experts as well as European Commission representatives and other relevant actors or networks on the thematic fields were present. Presentations and photo gallery are now available online.
A key output of the eCitizen II project - the Pan-European Best Practice Manual on eParticipation is now available online at www.eparticipation.eu, providing recommendations for local and regional administrations. This online tool allows practitioners all over Europe to share their best practice on implementing e-participation tools and processes.The INTERREG IVC programme is looking for a company to take charge of transferring the programme website to a new Content Management System in Typo 3 (CMS), and to provide maintenance services for the CMS (LOT 1) and a specialized company to upgrade and improve the website upon request (LOT 2).
The INTERREG IVC programme played an active role in the 2012 edition of euregia, a regional development trade fair in Leipzig, Germany. The programme stand displayed achievements of many IVC projects as well as the latest collection of projects that started their work this year. The IVC workshop provided a platform to debate innovation systems with three project experts. The programme also supported one of its projects, SMART+, in discussing support to SMEs.

The Thematic Programme Capitalisation in 12 themes was launched officially by welcoming 26 experts from different countries in Lille on 3 July 2012. One day intensive meeting was aimed to discuss the scope and challenges of the thematic approach and share methodologies and expertise.

The INTERREG IVC project GRaBS has won a prestigious RegioStars award in the category 'Sustainable growth'. The award was given by the Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn and the President of Jury, Luc van den Brande in a special ceremony on 14 June 2012.

INTERREG IVC Online reporting seminars took place in Rome and Paris, on the 16 and 21 February 2012 respectively. The staff of the Joint Technical Secretariat welcomed 50 participants representing 47 running projects approved in 1st-3rd Calls.

In January 2012 the INTERREG IVC programme conducted a survey among all fourth call lead applicants, to receive feedback on the assistance the Joint Technical Secretariat and Information Points provided during the INTERREG IVC fourth call of proposals. The results of the survey are now published online. These will be used to assess and improve services provided to lead applicants.
Almost all Member States have improved their innovation performance according to the Innovation Union Scoreboard 2011. Nordic countries and Germany remain the innovation leaders with Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Finland all showing a performance well above that of the EU27 average.
The fourth call Lead Partner Seminar took place in Copenhagen, Denmark on 23 January 2012. The staff of the Joint Technical Secretariat and the four Information Points welcomed 173 participants, including representatives of all 82 fourth call projects approved under conditions in December 2011. The event report and presentations are now available online.A detailed report and video from the INTERREG IVC Good Practice Fair 2011, which was organised on 24 November in Krakow (Poland) are available online.

The Monitoring Committee of the INTERREG IVC programme has approved 82 projects under specific financial conditions.

The INTERREG IVC Approbation Bodies in charge of the designation of First Level Controllers (in Decentralized System) met in Amsterdam on 6 October 2011. If you want to find out more about the seminar read the meeting report and download the presentations.The next Monitoring Committee meeting will take place on 15-16 December 2011 in Warsaw/Poland, this is where final decisions will be made on submitted 4th call applications. Lead applicants will receive a notification about the results still before the end of the year.
On 6 October, the European Commission adopted a legislative package for cohesion policy for the period from 2014 until 2020. It is designed to boost growth and jobs across Europe by targeting EU investment on Europe's Growth and Jobs Agenda ("Europe 2020"). A separate regulation clarifies and simplifies provisions for territorial cooperation programmes.
On 22 September 2011 the results of three years' intensive interregional exchange were showcased at the seminar hosted by the Committee of the Regions. Over 100 guests have got acquainted with the findings of CLIQ ('Creating Local Innovation Through a Quadruple Helix' project) and considered how these can be used to improve Europe's economic performance in the context of the EU2020 challenges for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth.

For more than two decades, Krynica-Zdrój in Polish Tatra Mountains welcomes political and economic leaders of Europe at the Economic Forum to exchange ideas on policies and strategies for future European development.Two-thirds of the way through its funding period, INTERREG IVC counts 122 projects across 10 themes, all sharing experiences on how to improve policy or practices. Already, the results coming from each project are impressive and demonstrate the programme's success. The programme wants to go one step further, to consolidate and exploit the results of projects working on a similar topic so that any innovative practices and policies can be shared with interested policy-makers across Europe.
CLIQ, a project dealing with innovation policy, and GRaBS, a project concerning adapting urban planning to climate change, have both been submitted by INTERREG IVC Managing Authority to compete for a Regio Stars Awards 2012. The INTERREG IVB North-West Europe Programme is currently recruiting a Project Officer to work in its offices based in Lille, France (1 year contract). Michel Lamblin, Programme Director of INTERREG IVC, and Jean-Loup Drubigny, Head of URBACT Secretariat, were invited to present Interregional co-operation in the EU Cohesion Policy to the mini-hearing at the EP Committee on Regional Development on 12 July 2011 in Brussels. The European Commission presented their budget proposal for the 2014-2020 period on 29 June. With EUR 376bn proposed for economic, social and territorial cohestion, this remains largely stable compared to the 2007-2013 period (EUR 348bn). EUR 11.7bn is proposed for territorial cooperation. The budget will now be discussed by the Member States and European Parliament.
Two INTERREG IVC projects were selected as finalists - from 66 candidates - in two categories of the European Commission?s Regio Stars awards. While neither won the top prize, it is already recognition of the impact of cooperation projects that both projects reached the final stage.

Almost 500 people, from all over Europe, came to Budapest on 3-4 February 2011 to find out about the latest developments in the INTERREG IVC programme and develop partnerships for the next call. Nearing the close of the fourth call, the FAQ section has been updated with more common questions. In particular, a new section on questions specific to the application process has been added. On the occasion of the 5th RuraliTIC Forum - ICT University for the territories in Aurillac (France) on 30-31 August, the 2010 edition of the European Awards for Territorial Innovation will be held. The deadline for submission is on 30 June 2010.
In the framework of the Programme Capitalisation, a Feedback Seminar was held in Brussels on 19 May 2010. Most of the 21 involved projects were represented at the event, where EURADA - the expert team - presented the first findings of the experiment and participants also had the opportunity to react on these first results and to further exchange on content and process related issues.
The INTERREG IVC programme has launched an initial experimentation of programme-level capitalisation with a special focus on the sub-theme innovation, research and technology development. This experiment will analyse the 21 projects approved under the 1st and 2nd calls in this sub-theme.

The SEE project Sharing Experience Europe Policy, Innovation, Design, has launched the second SEE Policy Booklet: Realising Sustainability and Innovation through Design: Making it Happen in Communities, Industry, Public Sector & Policy-Making. SEE is a network of eleven European design organisations engaging with European, national and regional governments to integrate design into public policy.
The second communication seminar took place on 10-11 May 2010 in Berlin. 74 projects approved in the 2nd round decision
A Lead Partner Seminar for approved projects from the second round of applications was held at the Bedford Hotel, Brussels on Thursday 26 November 2009.

The submission deadline of the first progress report is postponed for Italian Lead Partners until 1 October 2009.
6 Lead Applicant Seminars were organised during the second call for proposals, which was closed on 30 January 2009. All presentations can be downloaded here.The JTS confirms that signed co-financing statements can be accepted in original, faxed or scanned versions under the second call rules for submission.

Over 1000 participants from all over Europe came to Lille on 27 and 28 October to participate in the EU Interregional Cooperation Forum.
